About this generator
Practice notes together with the random chord generator, including chord symbols and an audio preview.
The tool offers twelve tonic spellings and two scale types: major and natural minor. Each scale shows seven degrees plus the repeated tonic at the octave. Note letters progress in order, with appropriate sharps or flats, including double flats where needed. Playback uses equal temperament and a plain synthesized tone; it does not require a music API.
